Adaptive Headlights

Sorry if this question has been asked before,or if I am being more stupid than usual,but do the "adaptive headlights" on the Elegance mean that they do not need adjusting for driving on the European mainland.

Thanks to a windfall from mis-sold PPI ,I am about to purchase a new car,almost certainly an Elegance spec Superb estate.I do a lot of European miles,and if no adjustment is necessary this would be a major bonus.

On the elegance spec, you get an upgraded multi function display, called 'Maxi-Dot', and you can chose 'travel mode' which flattens the beams for European roads

You still need to adapt them, but to do so you simply enable tourist mode in the maxidot menu.

If the lights are in tourist mode, does the light switch have to be set the 'headlight' position, rather than the 'auto' position?

No, but you do loose the added functions of the AFS whilst in travel mode

It can be in either mode, as long as they are on, you should see the bulb warning light for a second while they first adjust.

Thank you for the information.Reading through the forum I realise that Skoda owners are a helpfull bunch.
