Superskoda gear shift "badge"

Featured Replies

My new 6 speed SM insert came today, but I'm nervous of attacking our two week old Yeti.

Is there a technique for releasing the tangs to enable the old badge to pop off. I can see how it's located, but looking to protect the leather of the knob.

Trim removal tool in bottom of insert, gently prise off - new one just clips in emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I guess you meant "trim removal tool" was a couple of screwdrivers and a protective piece of plastic :giggle:

Anyway, all safely installed

You could save yourself the worry in future and buy the correct tools:

May not work on the gear lever badge but when i do my bluetooth install I'm off down the local supermarket to get me some silicone spatulas as these are nice and soft and non marking can be cut/trimmed to suit job and also can be found in varying stiffness for doing lots of prying

some plastic removal tools will still leave marks on parts of trim from prying
