New Ford 1.0 Ecoboost

Read this just now.

Seems like a decent enough engine, but a little sceptical about 3 cylinders. Looks like it has more power than the 1.2 TSI on paper, however I think the 1.2 TSI puts out more on rolling road.

Surprisingly, Ford seems to be making cambelt engines again.

Quite a high specific output but prices too high as they have been for the last 3 or 4 years since the Euro zone to UK exchange rate went silly.

Ford workers and related people have been getting up to 30% or so off the price. Always feel ripped off if you pay anything like the list price. Like Mazda, which I think Ford might won/(use to own) a third of it they were doing a pricing similar to the Skoda equivalent VAT off might be nearer OK.

Not sure if these engines are being produced at the Bridgend plant and then being sent out to Spain to be built in the cars but Ford need to bring car production back to the UK to be price competitive in the UK.
