Interior lighting

Featured Replies

Has anyone done any modifications to add addition interior lighting. My Ambient only has one interior light at the front by the rear view mirror. I't never bothered me before, but now I have a daughter in the back it is really hard to see what I am doing when I buckle her in. I'm guessing its because mine is a basic model.

I've read about some people putting in the grab handles with lights from Estates.

Its the same problem in the MK3 Mondeo. A lot of users on the forums purchased an addition rear light and installed that (cut a hole in head lining, ran wires back and fed from front light). Can't see it being a problem doing something similar on the Octavia?

People also get the rear lights from golf and boras. You need to cut the head lining to fit and feed wires to the courtesy light. There is a how to guide floating around here, try searching

The best ones to get are the 2 way switched ones which can be used as reading lights but also work off the courtesy lights

Also I think there's a guide on Rob's site?

When i changed my roof lining i fitted the rear lights inside grab handles and run wires to front interior light,

I cut holes out while roof lining was out of car but if you drop it down its is marked where to cut out on inside of roof lining

Yes I used your guide before. Worked very well for me and really made a difference in the car.

Tempted to do it on this one now.
