What a c@@p video! VRS clearly wasn't trying to compete, just being sensible. Prat in clio needs to get his brakes sorted, learn to use a steering wheel, get a proper sized gear stick, lose the gloves and get a life.

oh man.had to watch it again there and I can't stop ****ing myself laughing.loved the wee sticky out lip thing as he waves at the vrs in a ponce like fashion.

keep thinking he's going to hit the traffic island at the start lol

His car sounds and looks like a 1985 mini metro!! Is it meant to be a joke? He even strugles with the indicators!!

Should he even be alowed to drive? Get him on the next celebrity big brother!!!

heard he was turned down from the last series as he was to "famous"

Balding, glasses, the eyes/face of in inbred petty criminal, driving gloves(WTF?), thinks he's a driving God, is this a comedy sketch from Deluded Nerds?

Sounds like Brimma. :smirk:

maybe he had just been pruning his wifes bush(gloves)before he went out in his tin can on wheels credit to Renault it lasted for the whole 2m39s of the clip without breaking down

Had a similar play in my 2003 Ibiza TDI Sport, mapped to 165 bhp/300 lb/ft and said Clio 182 beat me :)

However, now I reckon my new car could munch one up nicely B)

Vrs mk2 vs clio 172 and 182 what you reckon? Curios

Clio is normally aspirated so no torque,i would expect a Remapped VRS Fabia MK1 TDI to be faster than a Clio 172 or 182 maybe not off the line but once the torque kicks in its game over a MK2 Vrs would also be quicker ;).

Straight line speed, the VRS is quicker, but throw some real world bends in and it isn't anymore emoticon-0143-smirk.gif

Sorry guys, hate to be the bearer of news which skoda owners might not like, but the Renaultsport Clio is actually a bloody good car and they can rocket along quite nicely too, I reckon it would give a remapped fabia a fright if I'm honest! moreover the handling is far superior to a fabia as well.. I'm sure somebody will come along now and say how they have 10 thousand horsetorques and they raced one going backards up a will with a wheel missing or whatever other ludicrous claims vrs owners make but the Renault is a faster car. Sorry.

his gloves do make him look totally ghey though

Maybe a remapped Mk1 but a remapped Mk2 ? Erm, no it wouldn't emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Well I have 10 thousand horsetorques and I raced one going backards up a hill with a wheel missing and still beat it

I'm qualified to talk about both as I bought a brand new 172 clio back in september 2003. Brilliant little machine.

If both a 172 and Mk1 vRS are in standard form, the 172 is faster off the line, handles better and is generally quicker than the Mk1 vRS full stop. The build quality of the renault was awful though, not a patch on the skoda.

Modified is a different story. The fastest one then will probably be the one which has had the most money chucked at it :D

The car isn't the issue for me, it is the driver (and his gloves) which are causing me to ache with laughter
