The car in question is a vrs se, 07 plate with 26k on clock, so it aint exactly old or excessive milage so stumped!!!

My wifes car also a VRS SE number 511 26500k is surfuring from similar a similar problem. Its as if the throttle sticks open slightly and doesnt always return to idle.I notice it when coasting up to traffic lights expecting the revs to drop to idle when dipping the throttle but they stick at around 1000 to 1100 rpm. Ive also found if i put my foot under the pedal and pull the peddal back the revs drop.

Just searching the forums and found this thread. Mine has the same issue (07 Plate Fabia vRS SE). Sometimes drops back on it's own other times not. Found if I put my toe under the throttle pedal and lift it, the revs drop back immediately. Could this be a throttle pot issue?

Any ideas would be most welcome.

Had the throttle pedal unit changed today by Specialist Cars Skoda in Dundee and can report it's sorted the issue - back to smooth tickover and smooth gear changes. Happy days!
