standard fit vrs stereo

Featured Replies

Hi,

Could somebody please tell me if they know who makes the standard fit stereo in a VRS?, I have been told it is Blaupunkt - is this so?. Also will the standard changer play mp3/wma cd's or is it too old?.

Many thanks

Grundig iirc.

The changer will only play audio CD's unfortunately.

You can always sell the head unit and changer and use the money to buy an aftermarket head unit that does play Mp3 CDs - they would fit a lot more songs on than the 6 CDs in the changer.

There is a version of the Symphony CD headunit that plays Mp3 CDs. I think it was only fitted to Superbs though?

Thanks for all the replies, thought that may have been the case, was the same in my old Nissan.

Still you have to live in hope :D

I've got a 2003 vrs and my standard head unit and cd changer plays my mp3 CDs.

Mine never played mp3 cds that was a 52 plate VRS w/Symphony headunit and 6 cd changer. It would play genuine audio CDs and copies but not ones with the tracks stored as mp3 files.

I've got a 2003 vrs and my standard head unit and cd changer plays my mp3 CDs.

Thats music to my ears (sincerest apologies :p )

Honestly, good to hear. Also have a 2003 VRS with Symphony

Id be very suprised, could you confirm make/model?

How could a standard HU play CDs as it only has a tape deck...

The versions that play Mp3s say "Mp3" on the front. Otherwise they look just the same as the normal CD version.

My 53 plate Elegance only had the tape version and I upgraded to the none Mp3 CD type.
