I am trying to work out how to change the bonnet badge on my 2005 Octavia.

Can anyone help please. As I understand it we still don't have a Haynes Manual for the 2005 - Octavia

Is it the mark1 or mark2 octavia ? Mine's an '05 and is mark1, but mark 2's were launched and released as well at that point.

There is a Haynes for both, as nearly bought the wrong one getting mine.

All I can say is, if your mk2 has the chrome grill surround be careful. When i took my badge off it ripped the chromed bits behind it off. I also foolishly assumed the little pins would line the badge up straight. Its not really noticable unless you know its there and look closely. Still makes me mad though! Goingto have to redo it all.

It does. Only have experience with mark1 , but don't imagine its that much different from the mark2, by what yesiamtom is saying. Mine was attached by 2 little plastic pin things and some sticky stuff. I drilled the plastic bits out from behind amd slowly pried it off, never noticed much chrome come up, but i was wrapping my grill so wasn't a concern. Did bend my badge slightly however
