Well after yesterday's visit to have the fabia serviced, I now just ordered a petrol Vrs with DSG. Only costing an £40 a month compared to the fabia. Reluctant to loose the fabia but getting alot more car for a few quid more and was too tempting with the vat offer and free servicing. So looking forward to 1st march as the car is in uk already. Got in brilliant silver with rear park sensors, telephone gsm prep and xenon headlight upgrades. Any advice/tips would be appreciated thanks

Nice one, first mod a remap?

did you opt for the black seats?

Would a remap affect the warranty? It's only got the standard Vrs seats as its already been made and in the system

Yes if it causes a problem with anything

Will probably hang fire on that until the out of warranty

That's a flawed argument i always think. In or out of warranty, if the remap causes a fault of some description then you're going to have to stump up to get it fixed. What's the difference?

That's true I suppose

That's a good argument about the remap actually, I'll remember that one! I'd leave it for a little while, get some miles on the clock and get used to the car - then go for it, you won't regret it :D

Try it without any remap - I'm almost certain you'll be very happy with it. Mine goes like a bomb - rather like the diesel, it takes a good 5,000 miles to loosen up.

This is my first time back to petrol after five diesel cars in a row, the last one also an Octavia vRS. I changed only because my dealer, Jewsons of Oxford, offered a deal that was too good to refuse - as was yours by the sound of it.

That's what I did, clocked up 170 or so miles then got it remapped on day 2 of ownership.

Looking forward to getting it. As everyone says get a few miles on it and take it from there. Looks like a few road trips are needed especially from south Wales right up to Londonderry in the northwest of ireland to visit family. Downloaded the user manual and on the dual climate control there are buttons for heated seats. I can't see anything listed on the spec or as a upgrade. Are these fitted as standard? Any other nice hidden surprises on there? I know the bolero has the sd slot so how does that perform or is it worth while having the mdi retrofitted?

The SD slot is good but it doesn'read mp4 format which is what I had originally burnt my cds into itunes in but they're easily converted to mp3.

They are an optional extra on the VRS, either on cloth or leather seats

I've put all my music on SD cards, don't have a music player!! I think its a good system

Also the OEM Bluetooth kit is very good, connects seamlessly to my Samsung Galaxy S2 via rSAP
