Using Sky dish to watch freeview?

Featured Replies

Can you use a sky dish to get freeview channels once you have ceased sky subscription, and stuck a regular freeview box in its place? :) I'm not sure if ceasing Sky means they remove the dish too?

Freesat box rather than freeview,

My TV has the freesat decoder built in, Unscrew the sat cable from the sky box plug into TV and Bobs your mothers brother!

After your 1st year the equipment, Dish, box and cabling belongs to you!

easy replacement - just go an buy a foxsat pvr and basically job done (assuming you have a twin feed cable from lnb)

As above Jason, get a Freesat box and just put the sat cable straight in the back.

I have one of these does all your sky box would do

Your present Sky box will still allow you to see anything that one of the FreeSat boxes can get but you'll not be able to record without paying Sky for the privilege.

Chuck sky a tenner a month if you want to use its excellent interface, you'll also get fat hd channels if you've a he'd sky box.

Because of rubbish reception here we have a standard Sky box and dish with no Sky fees and receive FreeSat which is basically the same as Freeview. You can buy a card from Sky that gives you more regional variations for about £30.
