Hello all

This is my first post on this forum. Im based in Dublin Ireland. Im looking at buying a 2010 Skoda Octavia 1.8 TSI petrol.

Ireland does not get decent spec. cars so I will more than likey have to go to the UK for the above car

ON looking at UK specs , there seems to be 2 top end models as follows :

> Skoda Octavia Hatchback 5-Dr 1.8 TSI SE Plus

> Skoda Octavia Hatchback 5-Dr 1.8 TSI Elegance

So this question is probably geared towards the UK people reading this

1. Am I right in saying teh above 2 specs are the top specs in UK for this model ?

2. Which is the higher spec, the Elegance or the SE plus ??

The SE Plus sits in between the SE and Elegance, Elegance been the higher spec.

However the highest spec Octavia in the UK is the L&K (Laurin & Klement).

The L&K is fairly rare and is the top spec, next comes an Elegance then the SE+, then the SE followed by the base model S.

Then of course there is the sportier vRS which comes in just under / equal to an Elegance (less 'luxury' kit as std, but more sporty kit)

Yeah the L & K looks very rare alright so I think ill forget about that one

Im trying to simply find the model that has

> bluetooth

> multi function steering wheel

> electric windows all round

> cruise control

but from what I see. there seems to be a mix of these options in both the elegance and SE plus but none of them seem to have both or maybe ive just looked at the wrong cars

the vrs (in most markets) misses out on a few things that the L&K has, even the Elegance has.

puddle lights is one example.

electric folding mirrors is another. however i believe both NZ & Ireland have this fitted as std.

then again the vrs has bits that aren't available on any others - like the drls; 2l turbo petrol/diesel engines; sportier front & rear (???) bumpers.
