Yeti Bolero problem?

Featured Replies

I have posted this before both here and in the ICE section but it's still niggling me!

Scenario;

Sitting in car, engine off, listening to Talk Sport on radio i.e. AM band.

Without turning radio OFF start engine, radio volume reduces to inaudible level and steering wheel volume controls won't work. Volume has to be turned to Max to be able to hear it and so the next time it is turned ON it's deafening!

Only way to get it back to normal is to turn radio and engine OFF, wait about 30 secs and start engine before turning radio ON again.

I have tried all the variables I can find , but no difference, I have also reset the radio to factory defaults, still no difference. The radio is excellent in all other respects but infuriating in this one item.

Could some kind person with a Bolero try their radio whilst stationary, no engine, then start engine and see what happens?

I'm beginning to think that yet again I'm being mocked by the technology. :swear:

Check your start-up volume and GALA settings first. Use the "apparent" tone control button top left of unit. Choose Volume, and adjust settings to suit. Then use GALA if you need it and if it doesn't upset what you have already now set.

Been there, done that! I just need someone to try it for me so that I can confirm that it's my radio before I descend on my dealer.

Just tried it now, volume was the same when I started the engine as it was when the engine was switched off. Sounds(!) like it's your radio.

Many thanks Dave, it looks as if a visit to my dealer is called for. :thumbdown:

Fred. Try this; it worked for Frenchtone (albeit a different problem).

Press and hold the Setup button to recalibrate radio volumes especially AM. Good luck!
