Featured Replies

hello

ive just been on confused and got quoted an extra 650 on my insurance if i get it remapped!!!!! WTF im a 32 yr mum and i got 7 years protected no claims... didnt think itd go up that much....

i realise that comparison sites may not be the best judge in this case and ive noticed in forum that some people insurance only went up slightly..

if your one of these lucky people could you let me know which insurers you used???

what are the insurers like on the forum ?? are they reasonable??

cheers

Comparison sites HATE moficiations

try speaking to any of the site sponsors

Adrian Flux

Sky Insurance

Brentacre

Chaucer

All of which deal pretty much specifically in modified cars

I nkow when i renewed with Flux the price as based on a modified vehcile policy and then I was asked for a list of what those mods were

Rather than each individual item being considered seperately and adding it's own premium over a standard car

FWIW my insurance as a 28 yr old with 10 years no claims

Try one of the specialist on here for a quote. Adrian flux, Chris Knott, Sky, etc.....

Try Admiral?

i had a really good quote for my mapped octy by going direct to LV which was actually cheaper than it was with AXA pre map!

The problem is you've got your insurance with a company that likes standard cars and so was reasonably priced, but they hate modifications by the sounds of it.

You need to switch insurance company to one that is happy with modifications.

I was paying £400. Now with 250-260bhp (about double) and a fair amount of other mods I'm paying £650. But insurance has gone up in that time too.

37. Good postcode. Good claim history.

lol - why would they charge you extra for tinted windows, the mind boggles!

Try Adrian Flux and maybe Aviva. If all that's done to your car is a remap, Aviva may take it on. You'd have to get a quote for a standard car, then ring them with the quote number. Someone with a Scots accent will take details and refer to the underwriters. If you've done loads to it, they'll probably not want to take the risk on "new business". In which case, try A Plan, Sky Insurance and Chris Knott. The latter two are club sponsors.
