Saab to Skoda?

In response to philje123's post - my XF, with a conventional ZF 6-speed auto, also has a pitch sensor so it will hold a low gear uphill even on a light throttle until back on level ground - it also changes down when descending a steep hill.  I would guess this is common to other cars using the same gearbox or the latest 8-speed variant.

I have also been considering replacing the XF with a Superb Combi as I need something with a bit more load space - and like Alvaro had concluded that the 200 TFSI would be a good option.  I drove a 1.8 TSI which was very smooth and - although lacking the torque of a turbodiesel, had a lot more mid-range flexibility than a typical normally-aspirated petrol engine.  I would imagine the 200 TFSI is similar but more so - although I think the chances of finding a TFSI demonstrator are remote!

i have tried a brand new 200 tsi with estate with dsg from sherloge garage in gillingham kent, it was ok but no where as good as the 170cr.

hence i am now the proud owner of a 170 elegance estate in beautiful black with heated front screen and power tail gate.

Used to drive a manual Saab 95 Aero but after 160 k miles it was time for a change. Now have a V6 suberb combi,

I would not change back, new car is more stable.

This may however reflect a general improvment in auto engineering

The change to an Auto box was not an issue

Good luck

Are you an architect ?

Somebody's been watching top gear lately?

That's why because the base plate and the chassis has taken from old Opel/Vauxhall Vectra model and modified for SAAB. My SAAB NG900 has the same base plate and it's not the most rigid one :-(

Of course the newer car has its newly developed advantages compared to that old car. New 9-3 has a better chassis than old 9-5 had and new 9-5 has a better chassis than new 9-3.

I used to have Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan MY2005 and later 9-3 Sport Combi MY2009. Brilliant cars but I would've liked to have more knee space at the back seat. SuperB does have it and that's great. But if I'd be able to have a SAAB with the space SuperB has, you know what I'd choose ;-)
