Considering upgrading but will selling the vrs cover the finance

Featured Replies

I am looking to sell my 2011 TSI hatch vrs in candy white but I am unsure if it will cover the outstanding balance. It has rear sensors, space saver and DSG. 12k miles.

Trouble is I don't know whether it will cover the cost of the finance outstanding. I understand it has 13.750 outstanding and I ideally don't want negative equity when I come to chop in for the hopefully on order today S4. Do you guys think that I am likely to be able to completely cover the finance with the sale?

Have you considered a trade in? I'm getting my BE S4 avant in April and am trading my Vrs in against it - I got an excellent deal. Also even if the trade in is slightly down on your oustanding finance you may recoup it in the discount you get on the S4 (i got over 10%)

Trouble is the deal is from a broker and they won't take trade in.

Parkers says £15k private or £13.6k trade in.

You're not going to get that trade in figure if you're not buying from them and from experience the trade isn't in love with big petrol cars full stop right now.

Ah, I see. I take it you got a better deal from the broker. I've had a few issues regarding getting a build date, went from week 9 to week 37!, have now secured week 14 after a lot of complaining!

Yes 7.5k discount which is almost 20% on the black edition. I have been told I would take delivery around end August. What exactly have you ordered? Mine is black edition with drive select and hill hold. Black edition actually had all the options I wanted at a lesser price than having them all seperate which I initial ordered. Your lead time is 6 months?

I've ordered a Lava grey BE S4 avant with, black and red super sports seats, sports diff, drive select, storage pack, folding/dimming mirrors, HDD nav and heated front seats - as you said the black edition has the extra bits that I also wanted. I will have waited nearly 6 months when I get it but that is an improvement over the 9 months. My dealer has been excellent but the Audi uk liason obviously didn't take the customer service course!

:)

i feel like i am poor

Trouble is there is loads of VRS vehicles to choose from with this 20% "no vat" discount so they arent holding prices very well, try and find a friend in the car sales trade and get a cap price for your car.

Don't worry I will be in May!! :)

And me too in August! Trouble I have with the S4 is that to take advantage of the deal it needs to be delivered by June and lead times means it won't be. Audi don't know if the deal will be extended which could be a deal breaker for me.

When mine was going to be late my dealer told me that they'd honour the deal, the only sticking point was that they couldn't guarantee the trade in.

Deposit going down on Monday I think. There goes my payrise! Hell of a car on the way though. Build week 37!

Which broker?

Drive the deal.

tbh I think my MAY just break even if you can sell the car now. I don't think it will be worth anywhere near that later on this year. As has been mentioned, there are too many good deals around. VAT free is common place, and my local dealer have an upcoming event where they are selling the cars at cost price in a couple of weeks. The beauty of VRS' is that they are a great buy, either due to initial discount when now or due to bad depreciation when used.

Could you sell it now and get by in something cheaper that you won't lose as much on?

Yes I could sell now and wait 6 months for the S4. Just got to find someone that will buy! Never thought this through when buying it. Thought the S4 was a dream to be honest. Il advertise the car on here and piston heads on Monday and hope for the best.

Well the S4 is ordered and now I probably have a long wait for it to be built. Going to trade in the vrs as well which should just cover the finance left on it.
