Skoda Octavia Elegance Model

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me if the Skoda Octavia **Elegance** model from 2010 onwards has bluetooth............as standard ?

BY bluetooth, I just mean simple a way to pair your phone with the car and just make calls, im not on about seeing your phone book on the radio display or anything fancy, just simple bluetooth

Mine is a 2010 Elegance 2.0tdi 140CR manual estate and doesn't have it.

Only put the full spec up as no idea whether DSG versions are different...

Have you downloaded a copy of the Octavia II brochure from Skoda UK's website?

http://www.skoda.co.uk/GBR/Pages/downloadbrochure.aspx

thanks Denis, had a look

so I want

cruise, bluetooth, arm rest, ac, trip computer and maybe MFSW

So looks like the SE PLUS has some of the above and the elegance has some of the above,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but neither have both

So ill have to try and pick one model that best fits and retro fit the stuff I want

Any one know if a MFSW can be retro fitted or would that be too big of a job ?

Yes it can be retrofitted & I don't think it's a hard job to do

can anyone tell me the following, in regard to bluetooth..................and by bluetooth, I just mean simple a way to pair your phone with the car and just make calls, im not on about seeing your phone book on the radio display or anything fancy, just simple bluetooth

So in order to have bluetooth, do I need both :

1. 4 spoke multi-function steering wheel for radio and telephone

2. Telephone preparation GSM III with Bluetooth (UHV + rSAP) and Maxi-dot - PT4

Or just one of them ?

Thanks

You will need to spec both if you require bluetooth.

are you 110% sure ??

I would have thought you could just have bluetooth without the multi function steering wheel

on my current car which is not a skoda, I have bluetooth and no multi function steering wheel

Oops.just looked. Yes you can just have Bluetooth on its own but will be via the stalk which tbh is a pile of crap. Mfsw gives it more user friendly set up. Got it on the fabia and I'm glad I ordered the mfsw as it will be a complete nightmare to operate via the stalk especially on the move

and by the " stalk " do you mean something like the indicator ?

Right hand stalk which controls the windscreen wipers

I have a 2010 model Elegance. The factory option for bluetooth also included the 4 spoke multi-function steering whheel ( 3 spoke for DSG ) and maxidot. I have it fitted to my car and still have the brochure. Dont know if its possible to retro fit the bluetooth without the multi function wheel. You can operate it from the Bolero but you need maxidot to setup the bluetooth connection/pairing . Dont know about the stalks.

interesting, ive searched high and low and coudlnt find an **elegance model** with bluetooth or multi-function steering wheel

Did you buy this car from new and specifically get the bluetooth and multi-function steering wheel added as extras to the elegance ?

It was a factory fitted option when ordered from new

It was a factory fitted option when ordered from new

right but the key word being " option " i.e. not part of the standard build

Have a good look at the brochure it tells you all you need to know..

I think you need an SE Plus and then add the Cruise and Duel zone climate package as a factory fit option then you should get all you need.

Well you see I'm buying 2nd hand........

Ive just discovered that the SE PLUS has no bloody arm rest either as standard

  • 3 months later...

It is a massive error by Skoda to not have any Bluetooth at all as standard in their top of the range Elegance. It is also well hidden and deliberately disguised in the brochures. I've just picked up my 2011 Elegance and am very disappointed as all of the buttons are on the Bolero and when I did a test drive I just assumed they worked! I like everything else but a stunning omission as it would cost hundreds of pounds to fit retrospectively. I wish I had got the SE PLus new now and had the Cruise Control added. Net would have been a couple of hundred pounds more but truly higher spec than the elegance then. Doh!

Tis a pain alright dc weather, elegance is top spec. and yet the spec. below it has some gadgets that the elegance doesn't have, it's a pain

The Elegance is not the top specification Octavia though.

The Laurin and Klement is the top spec.

Then there's VRS, Scout, Greenline, 4x4, etc etc.

I hate to tell you that you're wrong...

The L&K has been phased out. As has the brilliant 1.8TSi engine for the Octavia anyway.

You can now only have 1,4 122PS (Man/DSG), 1.6 TDi 105PS (Man/DSG) or 2.0 140PS TDi (Man/DSG) for the current Octavia range.

If you want to have 160bhp or greater you will have to consider a VRs or another model, such as the Superb, VRs or Yeti.

I might have to consider another brand unless that new thing has a more pokey engine.

You are correct sir, but the OP is buying second-hand.

Correct ; )

And sorry, above I meant to say the elegance is supposedly a higher spec. than the SE PLUS

When was the L and K spec. phased out for the Octavia ?

Edited by obi604

Very recently it seems.

I think I may have to change brands unless I can find something very similar to what I have.
