flashing yellow oil light and beeps

Featured Replies

hello there, i have recently purchased a second hand Skoda Octavia Diesel estate, all seems to be well but when i start the car the yellow oil light flashes and it beeps a few times. Once I'm driving it goes off. The manual says this means there is a faulty oil level guage. I check the oil myself and the level is fine. Is this a serious problem and will it be made worse by driving the car?. There is no Skoda dealership near me, do you think a local mechanic would be able to fix it and what sort of money would it cost? Any good advice much appreciated.

Think yellow is level, and red is pressure on a Vrs it it dunno about diesels and if the oil pick up pipe can get blocked like the petrols

Along the front panel near the drivers side headlight there is a two pin connector for the bonnet switch that is in the catch, disconnect it and short the two terminal together with a paper clip of something along those lines, switch the ignition on and see if it goes out.
