grille vinyl wrapping help or info?

Featured Replies

Hi guys I have been really impressed with the look of some peoples VRS's with the chrome grille surround colour coded so decided to buy mine from ebay. I have a Black Magic 2005 VRS and was wondering if anyone can give advice on fitting, badge removal etc, any advice would be helpful. Cheers

done mine yesterday..and again today coz i wasnt happy with it!

remember to take your time.

i found using water out of a spray bottle misted over both sides of the vinyl helped me i also watched a few videos on youtube overnight which i picked up a few tips from.

when removing the badge you will find that there are two melted plastic tabs that stick through the grill, you can either soften these and just pull it through or cut them and just stick it back on (my approach but im replacing the skoda badge) aswell as this the badge is stuck down with a sticky pad so you may find you need a soft wedge or something to ply it away from the grill.

Good luck! and tell me how it goes

Cool, thanks Jesta will tackle this weekend.

Taking your time is important. It looks pretty flat on the front of the car, but take it off and it's deceptively curved. A mate of mine spent an hour or so doing mine only to realise he missed about 0.5 square mm of it due to the curve being slightly more than he thought. In the end, he quickly painted it up for me with plenty of lacquer, was much quicker and easier :)

NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1 year later...

When I was doing mine, I didn't remove the badge. Want it to be covered also.

As the others say, take your time.

I used hairdryer to pull it back on the corners and around. It worked.

Will upload some pictures to my gallery one day.

Good luck
