2.0 Petrol Cambelt Interval

Featured Replies

Hi all

Can someone please confirm the cambelt change interval for our 2.0 petrol Superb?

Ours last done in June 2009 on 63500 miles, car is now at 100400 miles.

Have read various reports, all stating different intervals!!

Much appreciated, many thanks

Martyn

No one knows?

I've never ever seen a 2.0 petrol Superb!

Change the belt, tensioners and water pump (if cambelt driven) at the earliest convenient time - it will probably be the last belt change the car will ever get. You might just as well get maximum benefit from the work.

rotodiesel.

Neither have I lol

Didn't know they did one.

For the Passat with the same engine it's every 60,000 miles or 4 years whichever comes sooner.

Thanks BDZ10, much appreciated.

For the others, the petrol Superb is the same as the diesel Superb, just with a different engine........!

I'm confused. 2.0 petrol with AWX engine code..? Never heard about that before.

AWX is the 1.9TDi PD130

You should listen to him, he knows more about the car than Skoda does, and if you listen to him you'll know his advise can save you a pretty penny, the guy is an engineer and although he seems down on the car he's right to think so, might be a lovely car to drive but it's a bastid child of errors.

I DID listen to him, for the first 5 or so of his postings, then I realised all his does is slag VAG off so i always take what he says with that in mind.

As for saving me a few pennies, many thanks, I am sure he will.......(somehow)

To be fair, it's not just VAG he slags off - but as this is a forum for a VAG model, I think it's fair to accept most comments made will concern VAG and their cars.

There are positive comments too... but just such a lot of things VAG can legitimately be slagged off for.

Well the pins trick so you don't spend half a day trying to get them out to replace a CV boot is just one.
