I had a non maxi-dot instrument cluster on my Octavia. At that time whenever i switched on the ignition the brake pad warning light would light up and go out..

However after getting the maxi dot retrofitted, the brake pad warning light doesn't come on during start up.. all other lights are coming up fine except for the brake pad warning. Is this a maxi dot thing or is something wrong.

I checked on vcds and it is activated in the instrument cluster -coding.

The brake pad warning light is not present on the maxidot cluster.

instead when the pads get low, you'll get a message on the maxidot "Check Brake Pads"
