Spotted a totally white Yeti this weekend

Featured Replies

I spotted this Essex registered Yeti this past weekend in London. I LOVE the colour coded bumpers and side valances. It just needs gloss black mirrors and maybe a black roof to be very tasty indeed.

It has a weird spec though. It is an SE judging by the (blue tinged) Halogen lights and alloys, yet it has headlight washers? Also it has front and rear parking sensors but no Park Assist. Well maybe that is not weird in Essex. The aftermarket LED DRLs are very Essex though. :giggle: Judging by the dirt on the rear lower bumper he should have specced mud flaps too!

Of note as well is that the silver trays at the front and back in the lower bumper have been painted black and the bumper protector below the tailgate is black instead of the normal silver.

Here is the first picture again with the contrast and brightness adjusted to show the black wheels a bit better:

I'm sorry to say this; but to me it looks like a good car ruined.

Johann, the SE spec does have headlamp washers as standard even with halogen lights.

Not sure I like the mods but each to their own

Typical Essex! - but ETTO!

Ah! I did not realise that. No wonder so many people are moaning about the amount of water they use! hehehe

Our (Essex) Yeti SE has headlight washers, and front/rear parking sensors.

The front used to be an option on the SE, but you couldn't have park assist.

Well I be never..... I should read the brochure more carefully. So you are saying that front parking sensors are now standard on SE and Elegance spec Yetis?

Thats our customers one, can spot it from a mile off!

Johann, No I don't believe front and rear sensors are standard, I think front sensor used to be an option on SE which is no longer available.

IMHO I don't like the colour coding. Takes away the Yeti's bold characteristics.

Ah... so did you do the colour coding Lee? My dealer (and Allams) both said no can do as the rear bumper is of a "rough" finish. I still HATE that unpainted unfinished rear bumper on my car. Awful half baked affair.

No, I'm saying that front parking sensors (with no park assist option) used to be available as an option on the SE.

But I think you can only get the standard rears now unless you spec up to a higher model.

VW option trimming I suspect. ;)

Ah ok! Now I get it. ;)

Another reason for upgrading the Wife's to an Elegane Johann. :D

Skoda are not daft!

Sorry, but that looks tasteless and completely ruins the original design. It either looks like the car of a wannabe footballers wife or a drug dealer who can't afford a Range Rover :giggle:

I'm not too sure about the paint work.

I always thought that if its plastic you can paint it??

This is definately a marmite car.

Poor IainM1970! How will he now feel?!!? He ordered his white Yeti to look exactly like this one (apart from having black Annapurnas and black mirrors). Though in fairness he did not do the full Essex body colouring.

ETTO as Merlinman said but to me it has very much the look of the Tiguan R-line (with everything colour coded). I've never seen any "footballer" comments vented at that before....... And I can bet you one and all that the Yeti WILL have a colour coded rear bumper and side valances come the facelift... Exactly like the Yeti in every brochure since 2009 on the page showing the car's dimensions.....

After smoothing it perhaps....... Go and feel a Yeti's rear bumper and then do the same on the front. They are not the same alas. So the rear one can't just be painted without considerable prepping and smoothing first.

So I guess you did not paint them for the customer?

A good Body shop will be able to paint it. But as Johann stated it will have to have proper prepping to get a paintable surface.

Whatever you do, don't mention the washers. I did once...but I think I got away with it. :giggle:

I prefer the bumpers unpainted to be honest....if only because they'll take much more of a licking before they go all "worn". :)

Oh dear.

Ewwwww. I just spotted the white bottom grille. That is beyond hideous. Needs lambo doors. :D :D :D

Poor me indeed, as Johann says mine won't have the extra white bits, just the black grill, mirror caps and annapurnas ... I think it looks ace and at the end of the day that's all that matters. My dealer loves it too which will be fine come trade in time.

I'll put some pics up come 1 March. Some will like it, some won't. Such is life.

I quite like it, however I would substitute the Black wheels with something that looks like the VRS alloys instead of painting the Dolomites.

Might also enhance the look if the silver Skoda grille is painted/wrapper black.
