Milltek----Decat Or Sports-Cat?

Featured Replies

i bought the cat back last month and it makes no difference sound wise. I've head the decat is the best option for sound when accelerating. but I'm worried about the MOT clauses entailed. would a sports cat sound as good? and no I'm not swapping a cat in when it comes to MOT time lol. in all honestly my mot would get done at my brother work so it could get overlooked.

what would you choose and for people with them can you post me your reviews/

gracias.

Sound is all depending on the back box buddy, if you want a nice sound get a small back box with less baffles. Bigger the back box usually means the less noise it makes. The turbo back decat system I have just removed was really quiet untill you hit 3k because it had a large back box to absorb the noise.

I have completely stock exhaust again now because I am bored of certain aspects of modification but if it was me 1 - 2 months back my choice would be 2.5" sports cat back with mufflerectomy... like Lukes and Rossys IIRC they sound beaut.

I had a milltek sports cat, I'd say it was almost as loud as my mates Decat which we were both suprised at. MOT checks for cat's still only apply to petrol so it's down to how much you care for the environment & cost. I'd look at the piper too, full bore size straight from the turbo.

got no cat and Piper with 0 silencers on my Ibiza; kinda loud on idle, not bad at all when just going steady on the motorway and then raspy and not overly diesely when giving it death
