Hi folks,

I bought a 51 plate Octavia VRS in August and have been impressed with the car but a little dissapointed with the dealer with their response when i've come back with small problems. Just as well I stuck to my guns or they would have let me beleive that the problems weren't covered by the warranty.

First it was the rear door mechanism then three lines on my rear window demister didn't work and I found no boot light. Got it sorted after contacting then warranty people myself.

I am have a problem with my driver's door electic window occasionally on auto going down when I wanted it to go up, is anyone else expeienced a problem with this and if so what is the fix?

Welcome :wavey:

Sorry to hear of all your problems, can't remember anyone having a similar issue with the window but if they have I'm sure they'll pop up to help !

Cheers, even with problems still so much fun leaving all those reps in your dust!

I've just done a quick search, because I vaguely remember other people reporting odd window behaviour.

It's mostly reported by Fabia owners - the switches will suddenly swap left for right, or up for down. Usually gets cleared by switching the ignition off and on again. The common theory is that the door/window computer is getting confused, but a reset (switching the ignition off & on) restores normal operation. Sounds like it could happen in an Octavia as well.

Welcome! It's a performance bargain.Hope you sort the niggles

Welcome :)

The driver's window on my car occasionally misbehaves when closed using the one touch feature - it goes up about halfway then goes down. It can then be closed normally by holding the switch in the close position. Lots of members have reported this 'bug' and I believe it also affects other VAG cars. Just live with it like I do.

Thats usually an issue with the roll back programming, it thinks something is trapped in the window and as a safety measure winds it back down. I think the roll back is worked out on the speed of the motor (it has a small hall type sensor on it) and if it slows down or stops it assumes something is blocking it. Re programming the one touch (hold the switch up for a few secs with the window allready up and the ignition on) will sort it but also try squirting some silicone spray in the window guides to make sure it goes up and down smoothly.
