Do I break my Octavia vRS?

I am for the first time really thinking of letting go as I should really think of putting the money to better use, I am working out what I will need to spend on her to get her back to what I want then what other mods I want to do. Ive had a quick go over the thnings I think will sell and I recon £7k is what Ill get for them but again I am not 100%. Really the car is worth a LOT more than that to me but I really do need to be seriouse.

Dilema is I love the car and she really is a hoot to drive, all she needs is a hybrid or BT on there for 280+ BHP and that would finishe her off. I am happy with the power at the mo so till the turbo goes(wont be using the car really till next year anyway) she wont be getting a bigger one. the R32 seats need redoing to match the vRS interior and thats about it but for use next year(our wedding weekend) I can put the std fronts back in. They are in mint condition anyway.

Thoughts?

will update this when Ive worked out what I will need to overhaul her in the summer. (I have lots of parts from TPS all ready along with BNIB KWv3, 3" Decat DP, Nearly New R32 steering wheel etc)

So do you *need* to get rid of it or not?

It sounds like you're using the Fabia as your daily driver now anyway so why not just spread out buying all the bits you need to get the Octy pucka over 2 or 3 years?

If you really need to get rid of the car to finance other things then it will be worth more in parts but seems a real shame to do that to it. If someones willing to pay the right price for it like you say they can just fit a hybrid or big turbo and they've got a very well sorted motor.

Surely the R32 Interior and spare set of Spiders have got to be worth a grand altogether?

Well I must say THANK YOU to you guys, really this is a daft place to come for an unbias oppinion lol, mind think this is why I came here, deep down I dont wanna do it but it still there.

I dont think anyone will be mad enough to buy the car from me at the price Ill get for the good parts let alone for the good bits and the rest. If I did break her it would be a nice bit of cash now but I really like this modding lark and I would prob end up getting something else and starting again. at least this one has most of the things already or I at least have them to go on and I do know my way around the car now without the aid of the Haynes lol. mind she has been stripped down that many times lol and breaking that one last year really opened my eyes to how much is really involved.

My plans. If I keep:

Complete overhaul of the suspension- Fit KWv3 + LCR Mounts(got)

Clean out arches fully

Take engine out fully clean bay

De rust antything needing it and spray

Respray slam pannel matt black

respray crash bar

generasl cleanup of engine

Spray gear box black

New Injector seals (got)

Refurb LCR rims (£300ish)

Refurb LCR Brembos Respray vRS Green (£50 ish)

check / clean Boost track

clean out IC + pos spray vRS logo on bottom half

Fit Milotec rear diff

Milotec front grills

SuperPRO cast wishbones

Scrub up wishbones and hubs and respray black

Fit NEW Carbon Kevlar clutch and light SMF

plus a few other things like cleaning and full detail of inside and outside.

Fot that lot Ill need:

Engine crane+load leveler £200 ish

Milotec grills £120ish

Clutch alignment tool £???

Wheel refurb + tyre refitting £300

Brembo shot blast + repaint £50-60

Other paint and sundries £100ish at most

TPS Parts £...................

Would at least save me spending more on doing it all again on something else

you really will regret it buddy i have been there and got the t-shirt and i longed for another vrs

but if you did do it you would make a killing as you have top mods that would warrant top money and in parts 7k is easily achievable

maybe you can buy the little toy ive got off me this summer for a silly price ;-)

No Dave mate, she not moaning, just couldnt sleep last night thinking of whats needed to do, Taking the engine out is mainly to clean it all up and get to all the parts for painting and cleaning plus I am changing the Clutch for the New one I got lol. Its also easier to get to the DP and heat shield as I need to try sort that out as its catching and vibrating slightly.

I am still in 2 minds but thanks to you all I am more toward keeping and just selling the parts I dont need like wheels and spare gearbox and stuff lol, I seem to like hording them just in case but seen as I have 2 cars id doesnt really matter as much any more if something does go wrong.

Plus gettingt the crane means I can do the GDF car too lol.

Raf_ Ill sure try get pics lol, never been very good at that tho as it takes me all my time to clean up everything and make sure its imaculate when refitting lol. gottaa make sure everything is spot on.

ll, Right Ive just been and sat in it for 20 mins.................... Sad I know

The seats are just so darn good and I even started her up, All the levels are still spot on and she started straight away, even with a 7 year old battery and been stood since 28th Dec lol. I let her run and warm up then gave her some RPM just to blow out anything. OMG the worbble is just soooo nice.......

Think Ill keep her for a bit longer. Going to get the Brembos shot blasted tomoz all being well and take the LCR rims to be refurbed at the Wheel Specialists in Cwmbran.

Ive posted a load of stuff in the FS section too that I want shut of. Both sets of Spiders are in there but dont mind keeping the Silver spiders for the fabia as I not a fan of black on a silver car (sorry Steve)

Soz tho but I not a fan of other colours coz you can see the colour thru the gaps between the front and rear doors.
