Just a quick one, I'm gonna replace my Gearbox shortly, but does anyone know whether or not a gearbox off an Bora, which had an ASZ engine would fit my Fabia VRS ASZ?

I'm 99% sure I can, but just want to confirm ratios are fine, and there's no differnece on the cable operation.

Will be fine. There are three different ratios out there though depending on age/model, so ideally you want the same three letter gearbox code. Saying that, no bigge if its not the same. I am running an ASZ box from an Ibiza with longer ratio gears fine.

No problems.

Try and get an earlier one as they have the longer ratios in. Makes for a nicer drive on the motorway and really helps economy at higher speeds.

6th in the old box is about equivelent to 5th in the newer one.

I've got a 53 plate, longer ratio one there if you're after one, needs removing though, I was contemplating putting it in mine because I prefered it to the newer one, but don't have the time / money
