Hi all, did the LXi trim include a drivers airbag? It may sound a stupid question but my dads octavia said it on the steering wheel but didn't have them fitted.

Thinking about sticking a decent aftermarket steering wheel on as the stock one is trashed. Am i right in saying the mk3 golf is a straight fit?! Having not fitted one before will the boss sit just after the plastic steering column trim? What's the process for disabling the airbag? I know my old volvos had plastic clips to disable the airbag system whilst working on it.

On the felicia is will specifically say 'airbag' on the steering wheel if it has one fitted, the mk3 gold steering boss will fit but you need to take file to the cancelling ring for the indicator stalk to make it work 100%.

To disable the airbag. Disconnect the battery and leave it 10 minutes. Personally I have removed the airbag many times when I had my felly and did so just after disconnecting the battery. Never had any problems.

Just don't sit with your face right in front of it while you disconnect... just in case
