No reverse lights or parking sensors

Featured Replies

Right got the car back from the garage yesterday after the gearbox has been out and new clutch and flywheel. At first reverse gear was hard/almost impossible to engage but the parking sensors worked and so did the reverse lights.

I have used the car today and reverse gear is a lot better although still a little stiff and notchy but now I have no parking sensors or reverse lights.

Fuse checked and swapped but still no joy any ideas?

Thanks

Gearbox switch? Only place they would of touched and seems strange seeing you didn't have a problem before m8

Where abouts is the gearbox switch mate is it an internal or external part of the gearbox?

Thanks

Haven't got a manual in front of me but usually they screw into the side of the gearbox. Never heard of k car having an internal one so my guess it will be there. I'll double check for you in abit m8

Its on top of the gearbox has 2 wires going to a connector

Maybe reverse was difficult to engage because wiring or something from the reverse switch was caught up in the selector mechanism. This could now have torn / broken etc, so you lose reverse light and the sensors.

I will lift up the gear gaitor and see if anything is caught! many thanks

Err no m8, the switch and everything is in the engine bay. Open the bonnet, engine on drivers side, gearbox on passengers. On the gearbox side look for a connector with two wires going to it on the top.

its smack under the battery.... took the air box out on mine to allow access.... was still a bugger to get at though
