Fan switch panel removal

Featured Replies

Hi does any one know how to remove the heater switch control panel from the dash. Doesn't seem to pull out and can't get behind dash too it, any suggestions would be great. By the way I think there is a loose wire on the blower switch cos it was cutting out and if u banged the dash it come back on now it doesn't

yes, it is possible to seperate the controls from the heater assmebly but only if the heater box is compeltely removed from the car

petrol model left, diesel model right... the controls are held on by little plastic clippy things which cannot be accessed without either removing the heater box or removing the dash, word of advise though these are very fiddly to assemble and the control cables run internally in the heater box and they are an absolute pig to put back together... the wiring on both types is literally just a 3 pin plug to connect it to the dash loom which sits underneath and the heater box and is slightly to the passenger side and again sadly it's very tricky to access the plug... the rest of the wiring to the heater controls, series resistor and blower fan etc is dealt with with an internal loom inside the heater box

hope this helps

Thanks very helpful, thanks for the speedy reply

oh yeh should have said.. its almost impossible to remove the heater box as a complete assembly with the engine in the car, you need to undo the little spring clips from the front intake part that goes up to the bonnet vent and also possibly take out the blower fan too to give you enough room to get it out. so all in all its a tricky job
