Logging Lambda Values

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Seem to be spending a lot of time in here currently!

Anyway, I've been trying to log lambda values, on both my Polo and a friends Golf GTi.

Reading online, the values should be -1 to 1. I got readings of 28 on the Polo, and 7 on the Golf.

Two options as I see it - the sensors are MASSIVELY dead, or I'm being stupid and reading the wrong values.

I also recall seeing two lambda values on each car, each one very different to the other - why are there two? Pre/post cat?

Sorry for all the n00b questions, I'm new to this!

Any light at all what be hugely appreciated, esp. having seen the cost of a new sensor!

*Edit* I think those values were in %ages thinking about it. Assuming they are, what's a target %? And how would I know from the readings weather they were dead or not?

Thanks,

Joe

Cheers Lowen, will have to try that at some point over the weekend - seems a lot easier than faffing about with computer readings with slow refresh rates!

fsa - does this help you at all? (Doesn't me - my free VCDS won't grant me access to these areas!)

FWIW, I'm getting a 17511 error - will check the cabling first, see if it's broken.

TriggerFish....I'm trying to collate information and run it by a fellow Briskodian before they run the tests. Neither of us know what to look out for, hence the information gathering. I'll run your link by them and see...but it seems to be what I was looking for!
