Stupid Question; Centre Cap Removal

Featured Replies

This is a stupid Question, but I can't get the centre caps off my alloys. I've got the removal tool but I can't figure out how it is supposed to be used in order to remove the caps. The wheels are off the car FTR.

Thanks in advance.

If your wheels are off the car you should just be able to push them out from the inside of the wheel with your thumb or a tapping stick !

Dead easy to push out from the rear(no jokes)

Out of interest, does anyone know how to remove the of wheels are on the car?

I did it with a pocket knife. You just insert it on the side and push it out around the cap slowly

Hmm, just noticed that one of mine has either fallen out or been nicked and since they're difficult to remove I must assume fallen out. Now, where to get a replacement insert for a Sputnik 17"...

The removal tool is for alloy wheels that have caps covering the wheel nuts not for the smaller Skoda logo cap.

There is no need to remove the smaller caps when the wheels are fitted to the car so as mentioned above they are designed to be pushed out from behind once the wheel is off the car.
