Headlight bulk question

Featured Replies

Good day

My 2011 superb goes through bulbs like crazy maybe because I go for Hanfords fitted service

What's is the best

Osman or xenon mean nothing for me but seen 1000s on eBay

What's the recommendations from superb owners

Cheers

How many is "like crazy"? If it's a large number then it should suggest an electrical fault/issue?

Regarding replacements, am I right in thinking you don't have Xenons? I have Philips Extreme in dipped and Osram Nightbreaker Plus in main (as I don't have Xenon). However many people have given good reviews of Ring Max ones.

The only bulbs I have changed in 3 years on my Superb have been the number plate ones , neither blew just went black and were giving low light, my last car went 8 years on the factory headlamp bulbs , i think there is another issue here

I have done 54k in my 2009 Superb and I've probably got through 4-5 pairs of headlight bulbs, I change them in pairs as I usually try somthing differengt each time. Not too keen on Halfords own brand stuff - I've found the Philips and Bosch bulbs generally last a bit longer.

I had a Volvo before which also used the headlights as DRL's and that got through h/l bulbs at a similar rate.

On the Skoda I also went through a phase of getting through number plate bulbs too, but that seems to have stopped.

Justin.

Osram night breaker plus in my yeti and so far no problems.

Bloody good bulbs in terms of light output and longevity so far.

I do know there were issues with the life of the original night breaker bulbs though.

+1 on possible electrical issues. Sounds like you may be having voltage/current spikes.

Best get it checked out but probably best to see an auto electrician.
