The interface I fitted has 3 video inputs and RGB. An input can be programmed to come on when you engage reverse for a rear camera too.

It has to be fitted INSIDE the stereo, so would advise that you are sure you have a good idea what you're doing before turning your Bolero in to a door stop! There is a installation guide you can download from the Ebay page if you wanna have a look what it entails before having a go.

Also worth noting that my stereo was manufactured by Blaupunkt. Don't know about compatibility with other makers of the Bolero.

Well done for being the 'guinea pig' on this!

Very interesting, did not realise the bolero could even handle video.

I am still amazed that you found, bought, installed and got working this well done!. A question that I would like to ask is with the ariel supplied with freeview box all you needed to get a good pic etc and where you have placed it? I have seen strip type ones that can go nice and neat on windows posted in another thread for freeview on a columbus.

Bet it felt awesome when you put it all in and it worked and not a bricked stereo :whew::rofl:

Nice i did wonder if this was possible as would like to keep the Bolero headunit and just hoping now that its Blaupunkt.

Is it just a matter of it being written on the unit in regards to manufacturer?

Exactly that! A hold your breath moment.. Relief when the Skoda splash screen appeared and then a "GET IN THERE" moment when I pressed the button and got video output!!

Not got round to actually fitting the freeview box in properly yet, just ran the A/V lead into the glove box for now and plugged it in temp. That's a job for next weekend I think!

It's written on the side of the stereo. The stereo they use for the installation guide is a Bosch and the boards are the same as my Blaupunkt. I think the other make is Delphi. Not sure about them. Will have to compare some pics of the circuit boards.
