Sump Gasket ?

Featured Replies

Couple of things.

Was thinking of dropping the sump pan on my vRS to get rid of any built up gloop. Anyone done this and was it worth it.

I did it on an old Saab I had and there was a thick gloop settled in the bottom of the pan, so just wondered if it's worth doing.

Related to this does the vRS have a sump gasket or is it glue?

Cheers

Haynes refers to sealant, which means possibly glue. Doing this , perhaps it might be advisable to get a copy of a Haynes manual ,as there's setting times/ sealent specs to be used .

Yes the sump has no gasket, it is sealed using a white sealant. Get the correct stuff to do it and don't use to much or it will fall inside and block the pick up.

Nice to see that ,for once HAYNES has got their facts right.
