If you want digital gauges find the mcgill motorsport Combi gauges. I currently have these (used them on my last car) and there alot better.

Yep too many projects. :giggle:

I managed to get good OE look with the under cover paint I used as it gave a near perfect plastic pattern to stock.

My Boot is a state at the moment, so could be anything in there mate :bandit:

so what does this canister do then?

never had a skoda or a VAG group before, always felt VAG's were german tractors :giggle:

buying cheap gauges is a false economy, they lack accuracy and your misplaced faith in them can lead to expensive engine repair bills.

i used to run cheaper brand gauges in my escort rs turbo, and that ended up needing a new engine due to boost and oil pressure issues i wasnt accurately aware of. so now i run a full set of STACK gauges. cost a little more at around 50quid per gauge, from demon tweeks, but its money well spent for accurate gear. may not light up like a multicoloured christmas tree, but they illuminate in a plain and subtle sort of way

these are the style gauges i run

Photo012.jpg

and in terms of gauge holders, i build my own, modifying the standard vent units and column panels. save a load of cash, end up with something custom for a few hours work with fibreglass

i made this centre vent control unit

Photo099.jpg

into this gauge holder, with the gauges set at an angle

Photo053_2.jpg

and made this column cowling

into this single boost gauge mount

and this is them fitted

i know its in an old ford n not an octavia, but still, the principles are the same. save money making the gauge holders, extra money left to buy the better quality gauges. just my opinion of course

The Canister stores the vapors from the fuel tank to be fed to the engine later. It is only an emission control implement. the vapours are fed into the Engine be recycled instead of venting to atmosphere. Also part or the inlet manifold brake servo vacum is t'd into it

Like, it! makes sense, that's why going to make holder like Bowders1, with 2 gauges.

I am coming to conclusion going to have to spend a bit more money on gauges.
