Autoglym question....

AG wax and AG High Gloss Protection. Can they be used together and if so, in what order?? :nerd:

The general sequence is polish - Seal - Wax. Extra/High gloss protection is a sealant so that first, then top off with the wax.

Thought so, just making sure, thank you.

Does sealant really make much difference prior to waxing? (assuming you've done a full wash, clay & machine polish beforehand?)

This will all depend on your viewpoint, the critical thing to remember is that you don't need to apply a Wax after a sealant, it's bascially a waste of product but if your after slightly different beading or sheeting properties including gloss level looks then this may be your preference.

My main reply to this would be that the two behave very differently, a sealant in most cases will repel dust and dirt whereas a wax in some cases will attract dust and dirt, this is especially the case when appying these products to your wheels........:)

So in the case of wheels a dedicated sealant or Jetseal 109 would be preferable to say a Collinite wax ?

Again this is subject to people's opinions and preference, the key thing is that some protection is better than nothing but if you want long term durability and an active product that repels dust and dirt then a sealant is the better investment choice.........;)

Coming back to that old chestnut of Jetseal 109 vs Collinite 845 on wheels, if you required long term durability the former would be your choice ?

CG Jetseal 109 would get my vote but I currently have G-Techniq C5 on my wheels at the moment and I am shocked by it's ability to repel dirt and dust, driving in the rain literally cleans them..............

RainX for wheels then ? Sorry this thread has drifted away from AG but your long term findings regarding the C5 would be of interest later on especially in view of the maker's claims.

Rain X is a different product as the G-Techniq range is all based around ceramic sealant technology but the claims are well documented and it's on long term test on both my Superb and the dooka Caddy at the moment........ :rain:

I have a habit of just putting on 2 maybe 3 layers of Collinite 476s after machining. I've yet to try anything different which might work better. :) Jetseal on wheels is good though.

The RainX mention was only a joke regarding water dispersal qualities - not serious - I do realise it is a totally diffent product .
