R32 MK4 ARB, does it fit?

Featured Replies

Hi, aiming to go lower with my fab but the standard ARB is hitting my driveshafts, Apprently, the R32 ones go under? Instead of over so doesn't hit? My mate did it on his MK4 Golf and it solved his banging? Am I right in saying it will fit mine? As same platform of car? Or is it different? If this the case anyway of solving it?

Thanks.

Liam.

It won't fit, it's a common mod on the Audi a3 but that's because they share the same platform... The Fabia doesn't :p

Anyway of getting around it then?

Could remove it?

Any downsides? Bar body roll? But hardly have any as it is.

No downsides. Bit of body roll but if you running coilovers and some braceage then your covered

Shorter drop links

Shorter drop links

Shorter drop links

Running them already, can see a ring around my driveshaft from the constant rubbing..

How does 'braceage' reduce body roll? Stiffer suspension will, but a stiffer body won't.

Must be running really low then???

You sure it's the ARB and not catching on the chassis itself?

As there is a mark on the driveshaft sounds like it is catching.

It's not stupidly low, there just a finger gap between tyre and arch. It's a perfect ring on the driveshaft, driverside.

I didn't say braceage would reduce body roll. Sorry if I implied it.

Im guessing the ring on the drive shaft will be on the drivers side...due to the fact the driveshaft has a larger diameter on this side.

so if you set the car level then the rubbing will be on the drivers side.

I ran with my anti roll bar off whilst i waited on my drop links. Just secure it up out the way. Coilovers are stiff enough anyway.

Hope that helped.

Hi, yeah its the drivers side. I think its the only way I can do it, will have to order a FK Large hoop ARB.

Thanks.

run without it for a bit see if you like it if not then spend the dollar

you sure its not rubbing on the chassis leg, i have about 15mm clearance arch to rim on 17's so almost as low as is practical to drive on 195-40's and my shortened droplinks clear it fine, i had to have the chassis notched though to stop the driveshaft fouling on it. :S look for a shiny bit on the chassis leg where it could have beeb rubbing or even on the anti roll bar just to make sure its rubbing where you think it is :)
