Obtaining genuine exhaust pipe for Felicia Estate 1.6GLX Estate

Featured Replies

So - got home from Devon last week, and I've got a hole in my exhaust [dear eliger dear eliger], so I am looking for a genuine VW/Skoda bit....

The hole is in the 'middle' silencer underneath the passenger seat. I was also amazed to find that it is still the original exhaust, so to keep authencity, I would like to replace the whole exhaust system from the catalystic backwards.

My local 'National' gave me a quote for about £140 to replace this pipe work, but they would use non-genuine parts. My 'local' Skoda dealer - seems rather non-plussed about having to actually look up the parts for this vehicle [they keep on asking for my registration plate]....not really that impressed so far.....

Can you give me recommendations please on where I should go to get things fixed here. I live in Buckinghamshire, so happy to travel a little way to find a good garage/dealer. I'm even happy to buy the bits and get it shipped to a good local garage.

Suggestions please...

Thanks

Max

Hey wow - okay - phoned up Trust Skoda in Stourbridge - what a nice bunch they are....quoted £200 all in....hummm....might take a trip up to Brum....

There is a very high chance that the local fast fit will use exactly the same parts as what a Skoda dealer would use. VAG don't make the exhaust systems for cars, they buy in, so you may actually be throwing money on the fire getting a main dealer to do it.

hummm....thanks for the tip....I would not want to put my money on the bonfire....actually...the costs seem to be cheaper from a Skoda garage than from the local fastfit place....interesting!

That does surprise me to be honest. My local Skoda dealer wanted an eye watering price for the exhaust. The fast fit place will probably use TIMAX or Thysenn Krupp exhausts, both of which supply to manufacturers as OEM. Keep shopping around. I'm about to replace the pipe on my 1.3, but it's going to be a DIY job, and I will buy direct from the factor
