banging noise over speed ramps

Featured Replies

One of the benefits of Yeti ownership is being able to drive over street furniture at normal speeds.

My suspension has never been close to bottoming out.

Not even over our local humpbacked bridge.

I take it you mean the speed humps.

Technically speaking "Street Furniture" covers items such as street lights, signs, cabinets, post boxes etc.

Wouldn't want to try driving over them :giggle: :giggle:

Bad work that dealer-it takes barely any time to find out your problem and since you can only very seldom diagnose a noise from a description book you need a slot for a techie to hear it and diagnose. Not sensible to treat you as an interruption to their work!

update

took my fatima for road test with mechanic. he thought it might be the bushes.so it got greased up and hey presto noise seems to have gone.fingers crossed.

but if noise returns over weekend got to book the car in for 2 days.

thumbs up to silbury skoda, cramlington, newcastle

i knew it...lol. every VAG car with that front suspension design does the same thing (octavia, mk5 golf, etc.). be prepared to have them greased up every now and again, especially in the winter.

what happened to your yeti?

Getting the same noise from mine. I even avoid a certain road on the way home from work so it won't annoy me. Mine only seems to come from the lhs front. Will check elsawin and the lube it up myself :)

i am going to have to book the car back in as the noise is back and as loud. there is no noise from the rear shocks but the front makes the clunk noise both going up the speed ramps and down.

the car itself handles lovely on the road.

i know its not much, but you should not have to book a new car in after 6-7weeks on the road for suspension problems

got the car in at dealers hopefully getting fixed BUT i nearly crashed the loan car.i was reversing my car into a car parking space and was listening and waiting for the rear parking sensors to work.

but the loan car(fabia) has no sensors so nearly reversed into neighbours car. luckily i just glanced in rear view mirror to see how close i was getting.

has anybody else made this simple mistake? relying on technology instead of just driving :whew:

I made this mistake a couple of times after buying my Yeti, which also has rear parking sensors. My previous car, which I sold only recently, didn't have this convenience and each time I swapped the cars I recalled this fact only while reversing :) Luckily I have a habit to reverse slowly.

well got the car back today but they said they could find nothing and tightened and greased it up and hey presto its fixed.BUT ALSO

they carried out

recall 24w6

fitted new shim to turbo and adapted to car

any ideas what they are, i know one is a sticker but why would a new 4 month old car need a new shim fitted
