Octavia window motor/loom compatibility

Hey!! Due to the connector pins being all corroded and snapped off I decided that I needed a replacement drivers door loom and motor. So off I went and acquired a new loom and motor from a 2001 Octavia Estate elegance model. But sadly when I plug it all together in my 2002 Octavia ambiente model nothing is happening :( Are the two programmed different and are the looms the same in the two models?? Any help appreciate don this folks as its driving me mental!! Thanks
