LED sidelight recommendations

Featured Replies

Yes I've done a search but most of the external links are now out of date.

Can anyone recommend a set of LED 501 sidelights that don't trip the bulb failure warning light and last.

I've read about the heat from the dipped beams causing failures too, so also a bulb to overcome this.

I use Ultra LED's bulbs in my Rally and whilst they are good, they are expensive and very easy to break. So an alternative to these please.

Or, of course, a non LED bulb to match Xenon 4300k lights.

Thanks in advance.

Thanking you.

There is no bulb fail sensor (CANBUS) for sidelights in the Mk1 Fabia. Any led sidelight will work. :)

Well mine's come on since I fitted them.Unless it's the HID bulbs. :notme:

Bizarre! You sure you didn't kill another bulb at the time of fitting?

Cree's much better than LED's.

But Cree's are LEDs?

I did check, and everything works OK.

I did edit to add that I also fitted HIDs. I wasn't aware that these could cause the failure light to come on.

And it's only since I added the LEDs and a relay loom for the HIDs.

Thats right, but Cree's are much better than boggo LED's Ive tried them.

I bought my hid kit from rclick as well as canbus cancelling leads just in case, the hid's didn't bring on a warning without them.

Tried several makes of LED's and some only lasted a few weeks.

I now have Philips Vision 4000k T10 LED's which give a pure white light.

They don't come cheap but have been in use for over a year now.

Can be fitted either way round and do not trip a warning light.

One set I had on a Octy failed the MOT for being having a blue tinge.

I have a £3.00 set of SMD leds in each of the Fabias and they have been in over

two years. No blue tint and still working fine. I've not had one led fail yet in any of the places

I have them. I'm reluctant to link to them because they won't suit everybody and someones

bound to get the hump with me if they fail on their car.

"These bulbs must not be fitted beside the headlights"

I fitted supposedly heat resistant LED ones recommended by someone on here - but they failed within a month, were replaced, and failed again. I've gone back to ordinary ones which look blue when out but white when on.

EDIT - it was these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270655369065

I bought some £4 EBay specials.

They blew within 24 hours, I contacted the seller and he sent me replacements. Those also blew less than 48 hours later.

The quality of them was abysmal.

canbus ones i have got are brill - 6 months on they look great

defo worth a look at

Just an update, bought these the other day http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1439.l2649

These will not fit though the side light hole, but if you remove the headlight lense and fit them back to front they could possibly fit.

Problem is that i think they are too bright, im not joking these things are like litttle HID projectors. Plugged one in and flashed it in my face to see how bright it was and literally couldnt see properly for a good 10 mins, the cree leds are good!

If you do decide to go for these and try to make them fit, dont buy them from car mod shop, £11 each, me thinking they are the real deal but are just cheap china jobbies hence, wrong packaging etc. Id buy these > http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4601641742

Just bought these > http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310376437430?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 , bit pricey but will post my verdict

1 Year warranty!

Yeah I have my replacements
