To change or not to change?

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm a relatively newbie on here an I currently have a Mk1 56 Fabia estate 1.4tdi which I am very happy with. I was wondering what, if any, would be the benefit of updating to a new Fabia Greenline II estate? I am currently averaging IRO 55-65 mpg and as diesel prices are set to only go one way I am toying with the idea of an upgrade.

Has anyone had experience of the new 1.2 tdi Greenline and how it compares to the Mk1 1.4tdi, I know its a little down on power but was wondering if there where any other downsides?

Thanks,

Jonno

I've had the same thoughts with regard to my 1.9 TDI. However, logic got the better of me in that the £6k required for an upgrade would buy a lot of diesel even at the ridiculous price it's at now.

Sums up my thoughts exactly. While i could probably afford to replace my 4-year old 1.9TDi with the equivalent new car in the range (Elegance 1.6 CR 105 estate), I don't think i'd be getting £8k worth of pleasure from the new ownership experience. Plus I do NOT want a DPF...
