I'd like to replace my P21W DLR bulbs with ones that produce a "whiter" light - ideally Canbus compatible LEDs.

So I'd be interested to know what over folk have used...

Got some LED ones in mine - replaced them with these:

Got them from Ultra-LEDS - the first set produced a bulb error on the left hand light, so they swapped it out and no have NO errors.

They're actually called DRLs - Daytime Running Lights

I did my DRLs with ultraleds. Then went LED mad and did the whole car inside.

That's interesting as the MTEC XENON SUPER WHITE (Chrome Style) NATURAL GLASS 382 P21w 12v BulbsI fitted look nothing at all like that - despite their name there is a fair bit of blue tint to them, (the Mtec is on the left of the picture and the OE bulb on the right):

No the interior lights are not monitored by canbus - so you can use ordinary LEDs.

BTW even CANBUS numberplate LED's with throw up an error on MY11 (and possibly MY10) cars.

Does anyone know if you can use the VW passat rear OEM LED rear number plate lights/units?

I too went mental and uprated all the interior bulbs to leds. Considering ripping out the dash and replacing the green leds for white or blue.

Wish I'd bothered to turn the interior courtesy lights on before taking these pictures.

I now get to top up my tan just by getting in and out of the car.
