Roomster with fog lights and DRLs - picture of headlight wiring please?

Featured Replies

Hi

Could someone please post a photo of how fog light wires and headlight wires are connected on each side in Roomster's engine bay?

Basically a photo of how wiring is laid out at the back of headlight and foglight, and where the wires join up into a common harness (and also if fogs join before or after indicators) will do.

I am looking into designing and building a headlight ''booster" that would work with ordinary bulbs and not cause CAN warning (nor current overload and BCM failure that is commonly found with 100W bulbs for that matter).

I have considerable experience on this from my current car (Superb Mk1). Improvement of 2.5x light output on main beams and fogs is relatively easily achievable with under 10% current increase and years of operation between bulb changes, and it is actually possible to reduce dipped beam current in case aftermarket HID kit is installed.

When I am done (so probably in June, after my wife's Roomster actually arrives), I'll post the results / schematic on the forum. But in the meantime, working off schematics only is a bit risky, hence the request.

Depending on how grounds are connected (I know they're joined up in the harness at some point), boost might be achieved with a single box unit, but I have not got the car yet to look at it and verify.

~2 weeks before I get my Roomster (build week 18 quoted, recently changed to build week 16), come on, please snap a photo of wires going into headlamps, fogs and drls and post it in the interest of science :)
