Greenline II Missing DPF Indicator on Dash

Featured Replies

Got an 2010 Octavia vRS and 2011 Greenline II.

Both have DPF - but on the Greenline (with multidot) when turning on the ignition there is no yellow DPF light (or low screenwash light either).

On the vRS the yellow DPF light comes on for 2 seconds when turning on the ignition as expected.

Question - if the yellow DPF light does not come on - how is the DPF warning given? Could it be on the multidot? Or is it possible, from new, that the yellow light in the dashboard is faulty? If anyone has a 2011/12 model - could you check and see if you have the yellow DPF light on your dashboard (for 2 seconds at switchon)?

One more thing - when you cannot see the screenwas bottle - how can you not have a low screenwash indicator? Again - got it in the vRS - not in the Greenline!!!! That's a bit poor IMO.

Different engines may have different warnings / sequences etc.

My 2007 vRS and 2008 Scout both flash up the DPF light for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on.

The vRS had Maxidot but it still has the light in the speedo near the glowplug light.

I'm sure the Greenline has a method of warning you of a fault with the DPF but it might now be a different light, or perhaps on the Greenline it is incorporated into a different function, the stop/start feature for example?

It wouldn't suprise me if Skoda have removed the dedicated DPF light and replaced it with a simple 'visit workshop' notification in the display instead...

The instruction manual indicates it should have the yellow dash light. When the sun light shines I can see the symbol cut out to the left of the dial so it is there.

Someone must have a Greenline to check - they can't be that rare?!

Not much good to u but my friend has a new yeti green line and it has a dpf light.

Still under warranty so just throw it at the dealer to confirm whether or not it should have one, I would have thought it would. If its not working come MOT time when the cars out of warranty it will be a fail

I've asked the dealeship about the DPF light - they will let me know after they've spoken to a technician. I'll report back...

Still disappointed there's no low screenwash indicator (for a bottle you cannot see) - but I am able to rationalise that when you do not have headlight washers (as with the vRS Xenon Lights) the screenwash lasts for ages i.e. it is more likely to never run out if you top up once a month. Whereas with the vRS - when the light comes - on you only have 2 or 3 headlight washes left or a couple of days (it seems) before draining the bottle!!!

Right, just gone out and checked my nine week old Greenline II and mine does have a yellow dpf light. It comes on for a very short time when the ignition turns on (less than 1 second - the other lights are a couple of seconds before going out).

There is no low screenwash light, but if you have maxidot you will get a warning pop up that says "Check Screen Wash". The same maybe true with the DPF light, ie. its been transfered over to the maxidot on the newer cars where a maxidot display is fitted.

Thank you for checking - appreciated. The light on my 5 month old Octavia Greenline II definately DOES NOT come on :-(

The dealership didn't know and asked me to 'bring it in so they could have a look' - which of course won't tell them any more than the warning light does not come on! After further discussion they are now going to contact Skoda.

I can confirm when the Octavia Greenline II screen wash bottle is empty - there is no yellow light or Multi-dot warning. Other forums tell me that they do not fit the low level sensor in the washer bottle on non Xenon light (with headlamp washers) models. Funnily enough my £11k 05 Fabia Elegance had the low level warning but not bt £17k Octavia Greenline!

Intriguing, i've also just checked mine and as described by Chemical Matt, the light flashes briefly when ignition is turned on.

Mine gets a short motorway blast most days and a longer (20-30 mins) run once or twice a week so i think it should be safe from clogging up.

The dealership has now been 7 days and still no answer.... not good

My Greenline 1 also has a DPF light. Comes on for the briefest of flashes then goes off.

The dealership has now been 14 days and still no answer. I called them a week ago and they advised they would give me an answer within 24 hours but failed. I'll name and shame the dealership another time - shame they are the only one in a 25 mile radius....

Confirmed with "another" dealership with 5 minutes - through their Master Technician - that the DPF light 'should' come on for a few seconds.

Booked in my car on 16 Apr 12 for a plug in diagnostic - wll report back the findings.

Not happy with my home dealership though...
