Some pics of mate's Mini Cooper S Works

Featured Replies

Not the most popular car on this site I know but it goes like a rocket. He's always modding it.

What sort of stats do the Works Cooper S' boast?

I don't ask him as I was only down there for a week and if I'd asked him I'd still be there listening!

I'll ask him by e-mail and post it up.

Saw one of these at the BMW Garage in Northampton, 53 plate. Priced at

I can't deny it.I do actually like minis.Think BMW did an amazing job really.Stupid as it sounds though I am put off by the 'image' problem. Can I say that as a skoda owner

Why the buggery couldn't Rover have done it  I am afraid they deserve their demise.I get so mad every time I think what a waste of a company.

Back on topic, even the spots are a neat brilliant retro detail. (are they spots or fogs?)

Expensive car though! Far too expensive

Why the buggery couldn't Rover have done it

because BMW bought them nicked everything worth having (Mini/range rover), and left them with the rover 200.

it nice but I'm the original Mini fan. For it's size it's too cramped inside! But they are a nice drive

OMG - who vandalised it - lol. Lovely car but why oh why does he need stickers all over it :ashamed:

I was thinking about when they still had the product pre BMW. Why they didn't spot the huge potential that could have made them a fortune?

When was the last original mini made? 1990's

As for these mini's,great cars but I think more appealing in about 5 years time when they have proper price tags.

How can you spend

The last mini was probably made in 2000, however there are 51 reg and maybe 02 reg's of the old mini around ;)

One of the guys I work with has one. It chucks out about 200bhp, and goes like snot off a stick! It'll keep pace with a Civic Type-R.

Is your mate a hairdresser?

Is your mate a hairdresser?

Or an estate agent ;)

Chris

But my Fabia vRS will keep up with a CTR after spending

Used to be a time when mini driver's waved to each other....

...nowadays they would permanently be off work with tennis elbow!

I've been following mini's as others approach and i dont think they even notice each other (there are exceptions of course).

Glad they are doing so well obviously, just makes me want one less.

One of my workmates has a Cooper S. Rapid little beast and the sound of the blower is great! :D:D

And she's a girl :P

I know only that supercharging and turbocharging are forced induction (from a google) :) But I thought the downside (if you are into that kind of thing..which I am) is superchargers sound rather ' whiney' even supercharged jags suffer from it which must be disappointing!

This is only from what I have read so I don't know if it is true or not :D

' whiney'

I drove one around rockingham, the whine from the supercharge is addictive!

So it's not similar to ' having your wife in the passenger seat telling you to slow down' kind of whine then

If it sounds sporty thats ok :D

have to argee it's a nice sort of whine! Had a blast in one when I was changing from the paxo, liked it but too over priced in my view, a few K more and I'd be in scooby/evo waters :D

But turbos came about from the limitations of superchargers :D

Works Mini's are great...handling is sublime from what I've read. Can't make into the entrance of a bm dealership, let alone speak to a salesman...the VFM equation just does not balance for me on that marque.

Evo is only 3k more than new Octy....of course running costs are at opposite ends of the scale, but the principle of it stands.

Stats as follows

Started out as a coopers then had it modified to works 200 bhp then

a k&n typhoon air filter added with quick silver exhuast which has taken it to 220bhp.

Next to be done is being lowered by 20 to 30 mm having the works breaking system

fitted and different seats. Then the engine bay will have different parts added.
