My wife has the Octavia 1.2TSI Elegance (took delivery in June 2010). I have the Superb 170TDI Elegance (Aug 2010). I am trying to figure out how to access the Set-up menu in my wife's car (in my own, it is easy enough, through the multi-functional steering wheel), but I can't find it. I have tried pressing the button on the end of the windsheld wiper lever for more than 1 second (as advised in the handbook, page 27), but this does not bring up the main menu.

Can anyone advise please: i) if our Octavia model should allow access to the Set-up menu, and ii) how we access this?

iirc, its the button on the underside of the right hand stalk, press that and then use the button on the end to scroll thru the options.

Does it have the maxidot display?

Not sure. This is the display. Is it Maxidot?

I'm afraid that is the normal trip computer and not Maxidot. If you want to change any of the settings you'll need to see the dealer or someone with VCDS.

I just checked the brochure and the elegance doesn't have the 1.2tsi engine only 1.4 upwards. Also the maxidot is available from the SE Plus upwards. Are absolutely sure it's an elegance and your dealer not ripped you off. Check your log book to see what engine size your car is and make sure your dealer hasn't made an mistake by delivering you an S/SE model and charged you for an elegance. Just seems strange to me

How do I know if I have maxi dot ? I'm able to reset coming home lights and central locking and all that but I dont seem to have oil temp!

My car is 2007 vrs tdi Irish spec.

All Irish cars have maxidot, not all show oil temp. It may be possible via VCDS - I don't know.
