Remote locking 2000reg fabia

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I'm hoping someone will be able to help me, I've just bought a W reg 2000 Fabia. The battery was dead in the key but I was told that it would just need changing to get the remote locking back.

I've changed the battery and it lights up when I press it. Now the thing is I've read and re-read loads of guides on how to re-programme the fob and none of them seem to work. I only have the one remote fob, the spare key does not have a button to press.

The second reason I'm struggling is I put my spare in and turn on the igition (I don't start the car) I then use the key with the button and light to lock the drivers door and here lies my problem. The drivers door will not lock whilst the other key is in the igition. Am I doing something wrong? I've tried everything.

Any ideas or is it a trip to the dealership?. I really hope not as I've read it could be over £100.

If your key only has one button and a bulb lights when you press it, you don't have remote central locking.

Well that solved that lol. What's the button and light for?

So you can see the lock at night and don't scratch the paint with the key.
