I notice there are always some water-mark under the exhaust, so I ran a little experiment.

The car was stationary over night, nothing on the ground no dripping. First I drive my Fabia forward for 1m and stop smoothly, no water drop. But then I reverse back to where I was with hard foot brake to stop, some water split from exhaust and left a 5-10cm wide water-mark on the ground. Then I move forward agian with hard foot brake to stop, another water-mark is left under the exhaust. No dripping while the car is stationary. Saw some water (may be) handing around the edge of the exhaust pipe. I believe those are water, as they are clear with no colour and doesn't smell like gas. Saw some white smoke coming out from exhaust after the engine started, but smoke are hardly visible and disappear very soon.

Should I take serious care on this? or it is normal? Many Thanks in Advance.

I think you're right Rob. I remember watching my dad reverse various cars out of the garage over the years and they often had a few droplets of water on start up which was condensation.

Nothing to be worried about.

White = fine. Bellowing out dark smoke = bad (well, unless you've planted it really hard I suppose ) but certainly I wouldn't expect blue smoke

As others have said, if it is clear and doesn't smell, don't worry about it. Short trips, especially during cold weather, leave a lot of condensation in the exhaust system, which in turn doesn't get hot enough to evaporate the collected water. This condensation can collect in the rear silencer and it will stay there until it is evaporates when the exhaust heats up enough, or until car movement - eg acceleration, braking or going uphill - allows it to escape.

By product of a cat is water, hydrocarbons (unburnt fuel) are broken down into water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (co2).

Hence condensation, steam (white smoke) and water droplets.

I took my Fabia out for ~30mins last night, spin around in Colchester town, no droplets of water was found afterward. So I shouldn't worry those condensation, as all you suggest. Many Thanks
