I've been researching who can retrofit a used maxidot unit. I know that Shark Performance can retrofit a used unit, but the person who can do this is off on long term sickness at present.

I know that Skoda dealers can fit new maxidot units, but do not fit used units. Apart from shark performance does anyone know of anyone else who has successfully retrofitted and a coded a used maxidot unit?

I don't see why a dealer wouldn't fit as used unit. whether it works or not, they will still charge. However based on a recent post not many dealers will touch the retro fit.

I still think Shark can do it for you, I understand Ben is off currently but the staff he has left behind are very capable.

Out of interest where did you get hold of a used cluster, I want to upgrade myself and was looking at a new unit from Skodateile?

As said, it's difficult enough to get dealers to take on the installation of a new unit. Following installation procedures, they're likely to tell you it can't be done with a 2nd hand unit.

I would contact the Shark office direct and enquire, it might be that it's still possible to sort while Ben's off.

I got a used unit off of eBay. It was actually a unit from a member on here. They had attempted to get Shark to fit it but his car would not communicate with the unit properly as he did not have a full spec skoda - ie the right type of stalks.

I have emailed Shark Performance but unfortunately until Ben is back fighting fit they can't help. So will have to wait unless anyone knows anything differently.

Thanks for that mate, I pressume they are dieseal clocks you have? If not do you want to sell them????

Yeah they are diesel clocks. It's always worth having a trawl on eBay you never know what turns up on there. Plus there are always people on here to double check you've got the right one!
