roomster

Hi folks , does anyone out there run a Roomster se Tsi 105 , if so tell us all how much you love the mpv

Have to say when I first got the car I was loving the MPG but as the weather got colder it seemed to drop quite a bit. Now it is getting a bit warmer the figures are rising again.

Last tank full cost £72 (not completely empty) and that got me about 430 miles. Early fill ups were getting closer to 500 miles (and sometimes more). So in terms of MPG the figures are between 35 and 40, real World. That is for mixed driving motorways and in town.

From new I have done 5,606 miles on 647 litres at a cost of £851. That is an overall 39 MPG (just over 15p per mile). Best fuel consumption was 507.2 miles from 54 litres, close to 42 MPG.

have had mine only 6 weeks with 500 miles on the clock so not really checked MPG , i was lucky with mine , the car was in the showroom , also had some extras " factory fitted ", roof bars , maxi dot , front fogs with DRL and a full size spare wheel , this is my 2nd Roomster so i am familiar with these cars , i must admit i like the turn of speed the 1.2 TSI (105bhp) i love the floating roof ,

Really like it. Torquey and zippy engine. Surprising mpg figures. Little-space-ship room. Flexible. Classic car behaviour on the road. Good comfort and user friendly cabin gear. The only downside I found is a bit of noise (mix of aerodynamics, tyres and engine) at high speed, but nothing more than the competitors (see instrumental data in car magazines tests for reference).

:hi:

Of course ask us for more detailed info...

I have just had to add 400ml of oil to bring it to the max, it took 6,400 miles to burn it though  I can get 50mpg driving gently, but not slowly, average 44 mpg local running. Never had less than 41mpg, and it worked hard that week! Quiet, efficient, comfortable, versatile piece of kit. What's not to like?

Got a Octavia 1.9TDI PD for over 6 years, and it was time to change car. We changed to our first Roomster ever. A Roomster 1.2TSI with panoramic roof, roof rails and fixed towbar. And compared to the 1.9TDI PD engine, the 1.2TSI is a great engine really really surprised every time I drive the car.

The car has now covered 13000 km, have not used or just very little olie.

I can get around 750 km from a full tank. That gives me around 15 km/l

To compare with the Octavia, it has done 196000 km, used olie a lot. On a full tank it gave me 920 km, 17 km/l

Overall, very very pleased with the Roomster, it drives much easier, better handling and the kids loves it.

Last Friday I covered 330Km and the car used 20.19lt of petrol. The route was ~200Km at highway, travelling at 120Km/h and then ~130Km country road travelling at speeds from 80 to 110Km/h.

Today I covered 250Km on highway travelling between 120 and 150Km/h (health reasons) and the board computer indicated 7.3lt / 100Km and the top trapezoid block off from fuel gauge. I can't say how many litres, because I didn't fill up. In both cases we were 2 adults and 2 kids in their seats, with our stuff in trunk, which means full load.

As concerned oil consumption, I think it is ~600ml after 12.000km since last service, but the car is 95% used for every day commute in the city, which envolves a vast number of engine's turn on / turn off.
